Upgrade Your Work-From-Home Scenery With Barbados’ New Digital Nomad Visa
With the ongoing pandemic limiting everybody's ability to travel to other countries, people are starting to bounce off the walls of their houses after months of working from home.
While many countries are still shut down to non-resident visitors, others are starting to open up to tourists, and Barbados is even asking you to come visit for a whole year.
Welcoming Visitors With Open Arms
That's right, your eyes are not deceiving you. While other countries are choosing to not allow visitors, Barbados is taking the opposite approach and is inviting people to not only come visit but to go live there, so long as you are able to provide your own source of income.
The Stamp Of Approval
In order to live on the island, you'll need the golden ticket—or in this case, the golden stamp. The 12-month Barbados Welcome Stamp is the special visa the country has created for any remote workers who want to trade their current home life for a much more scenic home office on a tropical island.
Can Anyone Qualify For It?
In order to qualify for the Welcome Stamp visa, you must be employed already and have an expected income of at least $50,000 for the next 12 months. This visa does not allow you to be employed on the island, but it's a way for you to seriously upgrade your home office.
The Price You Pay
The fee for your ticket to tropical living is $2,000 for solo travelers or $3,000 if you're applying to bring your spouse or children with you. If you meet all the necessary qualifications, the government says it should take less than seven days for your application to be approved. Your new life in Barbados could be approved in just one week!
It's All Part Of Adapting To Post-Pandemic Life
As the world starts to reopen and things start to return to normal, many businesses are realizing that remote workers might be part of their new normal business plan, which is why Barbados created this visa. The application process for Barbados' Welcome Stamp is open as of mid-July, so your new beach life could start as early as next week.
