Former Hotel Worker Spills The Tea On Industry Secrets You May Not Know Of
When you work somewhere long enough, you are bound to learn some secrets of the job that not everyone knows about.
A woman on TikTok thought she'd let people in on some of the secrets of the hotel industry.
Wanted To Share Some Hotel Secrets
Janessa Richard is a former hotel employee who has gone viral on TikTok for a recent series of videos she posted.
She thought it would be fun to share some secrets from her experience working in the industry.
Secrets Only From Her Experience
She did make a point to tell people that what she is sharing is only from her experience.
It has been six years since she worked in the hotel so she knows that things may have changed.
Duvets Are Not Washed Between Guests
She said that the duvets in hotels are not washed in between guests.
This means that there could be so many germs on them. She recommends taking it off the bed right when you get into the room.
Free Room Upgrades
Just because you did not book one of the nicer suites doesn't mean that you won't get one!
Janessa said that if they have an upgraded room that's open and you have been nice to them, they can upgrade your stay at no extra cost to you.
Staff Can't Say Your Room Number Out Loud
Legally the staff are not allowed to say your room number out loud.
Janessa says that this is the reason why they will always write your room number on an envelope and slide it across the counter to you.
Toilet Paper Is Not Changed
The next bit of tea she is spilling is that each room will not start with a fresh roll of toilet paper.
She thinks that it is pretty gross. She says that they will just fold the end of the roll to make it look nice.
Glasses Might Not Be Clean
Jessica does not think that you should drink from the drinking glasses that are provided in a hotel room.
In her experience, they are not cleaned as long as they still look clean.
You Can Get Your Room For Free
Her last tip is that some hotels have a 100% satisfaction guarantee policy.
You may be able to get your room for free if you can find even the smallest thing in your room that you are not happy with. Do you have any other hotel secrets?
